Passenger traffic for Singapore Airlines as a group rose 8.3% y-o-y to $12.9 billion for the month of November, while passenger capacity was up 9.3%.
The group’s airlines, flag carrier SIA and its budget airline Scoot, carried a total of 3.3 million passengers in November, 7.5% higher y-o-y than the same period last year.
Group passenger load factor (PLF) stood at 87% in November, 0.8 percentage points (ppt) lower y-o-y. Meanwhile, SIA’s and Scoot’s PLF stood at 86.8% and 87.4%, respectively.
For the same period, cargo loads saw a 10.3% y-oy increase, due to an increase in freighter charters.
Similarly, cargo capacity expanded by 12.8% y-o-y in November. This came on the back of higher utilisation of freighter aircraft and higher bellyhold capacity from increased passenger services.
As a result, cargo load factor stood at 56.6%, 1.3 ppt lower y-o-y.

During the month of November, SIA launched daily passenger services to Beijing’s Daxing International Airport. With this addition, the airline currently serves two points in China’s capital city and the group serves 23 destinations in mainland China.
At the end of November, the group’s passenger network covered 128 destinations in 36 countries and territories. SIA served 79 destinations, while Scoot served 71 destinations.
Its cargo network comprised 132 destinations in 37 countries and territories.
