Singapore Airlines (SIA) Group has reported a passenger traffic growth of 2.6% y-o-y, outpacing the 2.2% increase in passenger capacity for the month of November.
The group’s passenger load factor (PLF) came in at 87.3%, 0.3 percentage points (ppts) up y-o-y. SIA and Scoot posted monthly PLFs of 86.4% and 90.7% respectively.
The two airlines carried a combined total of 3.5 million passengers, 6.0% more than last year.
Meanwhile, cargo carriage increased by 12.4% y-o-y supported by the year-end peak demand and a higher contribution from freighter aircraft during the month.
Cargo loads grew by 8.1%, outpacing the expansion in cargo capacity of 1.6%. As such, cargo load factor came in at 60.2%, 3.6 ppts y-o-y higher.
During the month, Scoot launched passenger services to Nha Trang in Vietnam, while SIA resumed seasonal services to Sapporo (Chitose) in Japan.

As at end Nov, SIA Group’s passenger network covered 131 destinations in 37 countries and territories. SIA served 79 destinations, while Scoot served 76 destinations. The cargo network comprised 135 destinations in 38 countries and territories.
Shares in SIA Group closed 1 cent lower or 0.158% down at $6.32 on Dec 15.
