It’s been just over seven years since Courtyard by Marriott came to Singapore, but the hotel is keeping fresh with a newly updated restaurant and a glitzy rooftop bar with great views to boot.
The 250-room hotel occupies the 22nd to 33rd levels of Royal Square at Novena. From this height, the hustle and bustle of the street below (and its seemingly perpetual construction) seem infinitely far away.
Next to the check-in counter at Courtyard by Marriott Singapore Novena is Sky22, the hotel’s dining venue, which reopened in late January following a refresh of its interiors and menu.
The new space at Sky22 features nature-inspired interiors and an open kitchen. This is where breakfast is served daily, with a solid spread of continental and local dishes. For lunch, there’s a semi-buffet menu starting at $29.50++ per person; the a la carte menu runs all day till 10.30pm.

Standout dishes on the updated menu include the crabcake ($15++), made with locally grown mud crab and ice plant, and the Sichuan chicken koushuiji ($25++), where the classic Chinese dish is layered atop a black olive fried rice.
Natural light and sweeping views are a recurring motif at the hotel, thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows seen throughout.
At Sky22, this means meals overlooking the city, while in the rooms, we are treated to a panoramic cityscape in addition to the usual comforts.
Rooftop bar Las Palmas offers yet better views — plus tipples. Outside this Palm Springs-inspired watering hole is a 20m-long infinity pool and a couple of cabanas you can enjoy between dips.
Las Palmas serves innovative yet well-balanced drinks, including The Racquet Club ($25++), a sweet spin on the negroni incorporating orgeat and roselle, and the shochu-based Nifty Fifties ($27++).
The bar also runs a “Sundowner” happy hour from Tuesdays to Sundays before 7pm, with beers at $10++, wines at $15++ and a select range of classic cocktails at $18++.
