Cupra settles into its stride in 2025 with a range of EV, hybrid and ICE models for Singapore

This enfant terrible is the latest addition to Volkswagen Group Singapore’s fold, as Cupra joins Skoda and VW to bring the Group’s eclectic blend of automotive personalities to Singapore.

Derived from Seat’s “Cup Racing” motorsports division, the Cupra badge was previously applied to Seat’s performance variants. In 2018, Cupra carved out its own niche as a stan- dalone performance brand, although it was still based on Seat models.

In 2020, the first standalone Cupra model appeared — the Formentor — which was followed a year later by the Born, its first electric vehicle.

The new breed of models rep- resented a renaissance for Barcelona-based Cupra as a more dynamic, edgier and sportier identity emerged, with a decidedly Spanish flair to their characters. This “rebel” of the VW family has since become an agent provocateur that pushes the envelope of design and performance.

As far as its entrance into Singapore is concerned, the Cupra has hit the ground running since its introduction earlier this year, with the Born and the Tavascan available from the outset (main image).

However, it is not stopping here, because Cupra Singapore intends to offer a full-flavoured model portfolio that includes internal combustion engine models, such as the Terramar, Formentor VZ and the Leon.
