Keppel REIT says it has completed the acquisition of an additional one-third stake in Marina Bay Financial Centre (MBFC) Tower 3.
Post acquisition, Keppel REIT will hold a two-third stake in MBFC Tower 3. The remaining one-third stake is held by DBS Bank, who is also MBFC Tower 3’s anchor tenant.
Earlier, in a Dec 26 bourse filing, Keppel REIT says it is launching an $886.3 million preferential offering for over 923 million new units. Entitled unitholders will be offered 23 new units at an issue price of 96 cents each for every 100 existing units. The offering will close on Jan 9, and the new units will commence trading on Jan 19.
Keppel REIT says the proceeds will be used to partially finance the acquisition of the additional one-third stake in MBFC Tower 3. An equity bridge loan of $886.3 million will be used to fund the acquisition pending the receipt of proceeds from the offering.
Keppel REIT units closed 0.52% higher at 97.5 cents on Dec 31. The REIT is up by 12.29% year to date.
