The body of a missing worker was recovered at the site at around 9.45pm after an extensive search operation by the authorities.
“We are deeply saddened by the incident. The deceased worker was an employee of the demolition contractor Aik Sun Demolition and Engineering. We share our deepest condolences with the family for their loss and are working with Aik Sun to offer our assistance,” says CDL via its spokesperson.
“We are grateful for the swift response from the Police, SCDF, including DART rescuers, search canines and medical personnel who were deployed to the site for emergency response,” the spokesperson added.
The group says its immediate priority is the well-being of the workers affected.

“Workplace safety is of paramount importance and we are cooperating fully with the authorities for a thorough investigation,” adds the group.
Shares in CDL closed 6 cents higher or 0.86% up at $7.01 on June 15.
