Millennium Hotels and Resorts (MHR), a Hong Leong Group subsidiary of City Developments (CDL), has announced the reopening of Millennium Premier Hotel New York Times Square following a 14-week renovation of its 124 guest rooms and public spaces.
Located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan just steps from Broadway, Times Square and major subway lines, the boutique hotel has been reimagined to meet the needs of today’s business and leisure travellers.

Responding to City & Country, MHR says it appointed Los Angeles-based interior designers IA Interior Architects for the hotel’s refurbishment, but declined to reveal details about cost.
Guestrooms at the refurbished Millennium Premier Hotel New York Times Square boast natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows and generously proportioned layouts with new furniture, fixtures and finishes in a style that is sleek and modern yet warm.

The experience has been reimagined from the moment of arrival. The traditional check-in desk has been replaced by a welcome lounge offering personal attention from locally knowledgeable greeters.
The hotel’s redesigned public spaces include the lobby lounge, fireplace lounge and Club Lounge. The latter is expected to open in early October, adding an additional space for guests to unwind.

“Millennium Premier has always offered guests a more intimate way to experience New York, and this transformation allows us to elevate that promise even further,” says Vikram Sardana, general manager of the hotel and MHR’s vice president of operations, New York region.
Sardana adds: “As New York continues to attract both business and leisure travellers from around the world, we are pleased to reintroduce a renewed Millennium Premier that is well positioned for the next phase of growth.”
Rajiv Puri, senior vice president, global technical services and capital projects at MHR, says: “The refurbishment was undertaken with a clear objective to enhance both the guest experience and the long-term value of the asset. Our focus was on creating a more contemporary and cohesive environment through carefully considered design, upgraded finishes and improvements to the functionality of key spaces throughout the hotel. The result is a refreshed property that aligns with current guest expectations while strengthening its position within the competitive New York hospitality market.”
Located between Times Square and Sixth Avenue, in the Theater District of Midtown Manhattan, Millennium Premier Hotel New York Times Square is a 22-storey annexe adjacent to the 48-storey Millennium Hotel Broadway Times Square, which is also owned by CDL and operated by MHR.
The original tower was opened in 1990 and was acquired by CDL in 1994. The annexe was developed in 1999.
