SGX Group, via its flagship corporate social responsibility programme SGX Cares, has raised more than $1.3 million year to date, with a series of activities over the weekend which opened the wallets of corporate sponsors, partners and employees.
To further extend its reach, SGX Cares has added Tasek Academy and Social Services as its sixth beneficiary.
The existing five beneficiaries are AWWA, Autism Association (Singapore), Fei Yue Community Services, HCSA Community Services and Shared Services for Charities.
Also, in partnership with Community Chest, which is chaired by former SGX senior managing director Chew Sutat, SGX Cares will work closely with each beneficiary to advance the causes and support targeted programmes, ensuring that their strengths are harnessed to drive sustained impact.
“We drew inspiration from our employees to identify the social causes that resonate most deeply within SGX Group," says Pol de Win, head of global sales and origination at SGX Group.
"With this renewed focus, we are committed to building on over two decades of SGX Cares’ efforts by offering deeper support for those in need and creating enduring impact in our communities," adds de Win, SGX Cares Bull Charge organising chairperson.

On Sept 26, SGX organised the Ultimate Quiz Challenge where donors and partners tested their wits on Singapore-themed SG60 questions held at the SGX Centre.
It is one of various fundraising activities organised throughout the year by SGX employees, alongside initiatives such as the Ink & Impact donation drive.
The following day, on Sept 27, more than 300 players — including Singapore’s Members of Parliament, football heroes and the financial community — took to the pitch at the annual SGX Cares Bull Charge Charity Futsal tournament.

Now in its 10th edition, the tournament attracted a record 37 teams in the Men’s, Women’s, Open and Youth categories.
The Guest-of-Honour was Baey Yam Keng, Minister of State, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, and Ministry of Transport.
In addition, local football legends Lionel Lewis, Aide Iskandar and Lim Tong Hai also conducted a children’s clinic for SGX Cares beneficiaries.
“SGX Group has done commendable work in rallying the financial community and beyond to support meaningful causes over the years," says Baey.
"Today’s Charity Futsal demonstrates how the collective efforts of corporate sponsors and partners can translate into lasting impact for our beneficiaries, uplifting lives and strengthening our community.
"I encourage more corporates and partners to play their part in such efforts, so that together we can build a stronger and more caring community for all," he adds.
This year’s activities will conclude with the popular Bull Charge Charity Run on Nov 7 at Marina Barrage, which is expected to attract more than 4,000 participants from across the region’s financial industry.
President Tharman Shanmugaratnam will flag off this event, which is in its 22nd edition.
“SGX Cares has always been more than fundraising — it is about the spirit of #BetterHappensTogether as we rally our growing international community to drive meaningful impact where it matters most,” says de Win.
