ComfortDelGro Corporation, through its subsidiary ComfortDelGro (China) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Hello Robotaxi to work on the deployment of Robotaxi in China and overseas.

The collaboration will see the deployment and management of Robotaxi services through CDG’s point-to-point operations.

Hello Robotaxi is a leading mobility technology firm from China backed by Alibaba, Ant Group and CATL which focuses on L4-level autonomous driving research and development as well as a commercial application.

It unveiled its first mass-produced robotaxi in September and will begin commercial operations in up to 10 cities with a roadmap to scale its fleet to over 10,000 vehicles by 2026.

The release notes that this collaboration will also see the establishment of an intelligent dispatching system for a hybrid operational model, enhancing operational efficiency of the transport ecosystem and overall user experience.

It will also explore car rental, battery swapping, safety officer training, grid management, among others.

“By combining Hello Robotaxi’s 800 million users and L4 autonomous technology with ComfortDelGro's expertise in fleet management, we aim to effectively scale Robotaxi operations from technical development to large-scale deployment,” says Yang Lei, co-founder and CEO of Hello Group.

Shares in ComfortDelGro closed flat at $1.44 on Nov 25.
