IT products distributor Serial Achieva has won a US$15.62 million contract to supply so-called GPU HGX servers for a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) training cluster.
"This cluster is designed to support advanced AI model training and data processing, marking an important step in the group’s growth in the AI data centre market," says the company on Jan 3.
HGX servers are usually built using multiple NVIDIA GPUs using NVIDIA NVLink technology for optimal performance.
The contract was won via its 55%-owned subsidiary, Achieva Tech Allianz (ATA). "ATA is honoured to be chosen for this project, reflecting its capability in delivering high-quality GPU solutions for the AI industry," says Serial Achieva, which did not name the customer nor where the servers will be deployed.
Serial Achieva was listed back in June 2024 following the reverse takeover deal of Axington Inc , and is a subsidiary of Serial System , a separately listed electronics distributor led by Derek Goh.
Serial Achieva's management, led by chairman Sean Goh and CEO Kenny Sim, had earlier articulated in an interview with The Edge Singapore plans to move up the product value chain, setting its sights on higher-end servers worth hundreds of thousands of dollars apiece and not just PC parts worth a few hundreds of dollars each.

Serial Achieva shares last changed hands at 15 cents, down by a third from its initial trading price of 22 cents.
