The flurry of festivities and social gatherings that started last December — Christmas, New Year’s and Lunar New Year — has surely left us winded. Now that things have at last quietened down, we’re finally ready to set aside our holiday ensembles and get back down to business.
Fashion houses seem to have taken notice, with their newest bag launches emphasising multi-functionality without conceding on style or taste. Here are some of our favourites from the latest collections.
Hello, gorgeous
Bottega Veneta has unveiled the Ciao Ciao. Meaning “hello” or “goodbye” in Italian, the bag takes inspiration from the maison’s Andiamo family of bags, highlighted by its recognisable knot detail and the coaxial strap.
What differentiates it from its predecessor is the addition of a two-way flap. Fasten the flap with the hook closure and knotted leather strap to close the bag completely, or attach the flap to the internal divider with Bottega Veneta’s signature woven detailing for a more relaxed look. A detachable leather strap is also included, so Ciao Ciao can be worn as a crossbody. This bag is for those who prize a signature look without compromising on versatility.

The Ciao Ciao ($7,980) comes in black, barolo and ecru; there’s also a larger version of the bag ($11,800) that comes in fondant, matcha and rose shades.
Simple but versatile

With the Baggy Boyfriend from Christian Louboutin, versatility is key. The bag features adjustable straps, which transform the bag into three configurations (crossbody, shoulder or handbag). It also has three spacious compartments to accommodate everyday essentials. It comfortably fits a laptop, a small brolly and perhaps even your gym essentials.
While the bag won’t find itself the star of the show, its construction strikes an elegant balance between practicality and style. Crafted in soft Nappa lambskin, a tonal “CL” monogram sits in the corner of the all-over black exterior, exuding an understated flair. It’s perfect for those who inadvertently fall back on the same bag for all occasions but still want to go about their daily routines in style.
Wondering if the fashion house missed out on its signature red? Fret not; the Loubi red facade can be found within the interior pouch of the bag — and just like its owner, wild and sexy only on the inside.
The Baggy Boyfriend (EUR2,990/US$3,490) comes in black.
An icon turns 10
In the blink of an eye, Loewe’s Puzzle has turned 10. To celebrate the milestone, the maison has released the Featherlight Puzzle, rendered in a soft, thin Nappa lambskin.

The design features a detachable leather strap, a leather luggage tag with a secret pocket and a delightful balloon charm. Due to its buttery-soft construction, the body may have a slight droop, but its sleek metal feet will ensure that the bag does not flop to its sides. For those who fancy a pop of colour, shades like aquamarine and burnt red may be the choice for you.
The Featherlight Puzzle ($6,250) also comes in black, dark butter and pecan.
Form and function
Another addition that has caught our eye is the Soft bag from Ferragamo. Coming in three sizes, this bag has a roomy interior with a zipped pocket. It also features an extra strap, allowing users to convert it into a crossbody. A cinched top adds an interesting look and guarantees an extra glance from passers-by.
If the Soft bag reminds you of a fried dumpling, we can hardly disagree, though you might just be hungry for a snack. However, if you think that it resembles the tulles of a ballerina’s costume, you’re on the right track. For Ferragamo’s spring/summer 2025 show, creative director Maximilian Davis pays homage to the house’s long-standing relationship with dancers, including Katherine Dunham, an American dancer, choreographer and anthropologist, who Salvatore Ferragamo personally fit for shoes in 1950.
The small Soft bag (EUR1,950/US$2,450) comes in black or pink; the medium (EUR2,350/US$2,950) comes in black, cement or brick; and the large (EUR2,700/US$3,500) comes in black only.
Small and structured
Tod’s has debuted its MSC collection, inspired by moschettoni (Italian for “snap hooks”). When resting on a table or a chair, the flat-bottomed Satchel stands perfectly well on its own. It also has a removable strap, enabling the wearer to alternate between three styles. Those who appreciate structure in a smaller stature might favour this bag a little more.
The Satchel is available in two sizes; the mini ($3,290) comes in white, beige and black. The small ($3,990) comes in white and beige.
