Porsche's "Raceborn" activities during the Singapore F1 weekend were as dynamic as the sportscar brand itself

F1 week in Singapore is typically abuzz with activity, especially with the numerous sponsorship tie-ups most brands are engaged in these days.

From beauty to athleisure to technology, there's a lot of hype around loads of secondary stuff in the lead-up to the F1 Night Race.

However, many petrolheads prefer more car-focused activations, and this is exactly what Porsche served.

Carrera Cup Asia support race aside, Porsche isn't normally embroiled in the helter-skelter of the Singapore Grand Prix circus.

However, the sportscar brand took full advantage of the motorsports mayhem in the days leading up to F1 Night Race weekend to fire up its engines with a series of roving "Raceborn" activities island-wide.

"Raceborn" is a catch-all term under which Porsche's motorsports-related topics are nested. This means that topics involving the GT models, Porsche Experience Centre and Carrera Cup Asia racing are all fair game.

For starters (and althought it was not strictly part of the "Raceborn" campaign), a gleaming 963 Hypercar (pictured above) sits pretty at the gorgeous "Porsche at Jewel" space as it awaits air-travellers flying in (and out) for the F1 Night Race.

As we drifted deeper into the heart of town to the Porsche Studio Singapore (located just a short stone's throw away from the Marina Bay Circuit), the brand's Raceborn activities were in full-swing with a double-drop for avid Porschephiles.

Porsche launched the 992.2 GT3 (pictured above) and GT3 Touring in Singapore amidst a pit-garage-styled environment to celebrate its race-to-road credentials.

More importantly, it also gave the attendees a first look at the track layout of the coming Porsche Experience Centre Singapore, which is set to go live in 2027.

Apart from a full sales/aftersales and driver training facility for Porsche owners, PEC Singapore (PEC SIngapore facade pictured above) is also intended to serve as a springboard for enthusiasts who want to take their first tentative steps into the world of motorsports.

The good stuff didn't stop there either, as a classic VW T1 Kombi tricked-out in the iconic Renndienst (or Race Service in English) livery kept company with the latest 992.2 GT3 Cup Car race-car (it will participate in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia in 2026) in the Guoco Midtown atrium, which was unveiled immediately after the GT3.

All the events at the Porsche Studio Singapore were graced by legendary race-driver and Porsche ambassador Jörg Bergmeister (pictured above), who had flown in for the few days to take part in the GT3 launch, PEC announcement, dialogue sessions and meet-and-greets.

Apart from his stellar record in racing, Bergmeister has been involved in the dynamic development of many of the latest GT models, and is also the one to set the blistering track records for the brand.

From the city, the Raceborn party (comprising the Renndienst support van and the GT3 Cup car) moved to Dempsey for "Cars & Kopi: Raceborn Edition".

This saw the brand engineer a takeover of the popular and beloved "GTG" (or get-to-gether for short) institution for car enthusiasts in Singapore. (photo above of 356 C Coupe by Abelart)

Like the brand's spaces at Jewel and Porsche Studio Singapore, the emphasis is always on community building and inclusiveness, which people don't always understand.

The ability to get up close and personal with such special machinery and even more special people (like Bergmeister, for instance) at these activations inculcates a deep connection between Porsche and its band of Porschephiles.

By our reckoning, it is this sort of access that helps its community of fans and owners grow from strength to strength.

In addition to the familiar JDM and Euro machines that typically grace the usual Cars & Kopi, the Raceborn Edition saw all manner and era of Porsches descending on the Dempsey Hill lifestyle cluster to take part in the activation, which made for a huge party atmosphere since Porschephiles are among the most passionate of car enthusiasts.

When a brand is being authentic and not just going through the motions, it always shows, because petrolheads don't respond well to fluff and fancies.

Porsche's passion for performance and motorsports has always been contagious, and "Raceborn" is no exception.

Judging from the events of the past week, Porsche's motorsports fervour certainly spread effortlessly from within to without the Porsche community, especially when it was executed in such a way as to stoke the emotions of driving enthusiasts.
