ComfortDelGro (CDG) and public transport operator RATP Dev’s joint-venture, KBH Metro Partner has been prequalified to bid for an operations and maintenance contract for the Copenhagen Metro, which runs 24/7 and serves Copenhagen, Frederiksberg and Tarnby in Denmark.
The bid to operate Copenhagen Metro marks the third time that RATP Dev and CDG will combine their global expertise and local knowledge to deliver complex rail projects.
Already, the two companies have a proven history of successful collaboration on major projects in Greater Paris, with its managing of the Greater Paris Metro’s automated Line 15 South as part of the ORA consortium with Alstom, and the operation and maintenance of Singapore’s new Jurong Region Line through the Singapore One Rail partnership.
In Singapore, CDG, through its subsidiary SBS Transit has operated Singapore’s Northeast Line to achieve the global benchmark of over 1 million ‘mean kilometres between failures’ (MKBF) for over 20 years, where it also operates Singapore’s Downtown Line.
Outside of the city-state, the group operates Auckland One Rail in New Zealand and will commence operation of the Tunnelbana, Stockholm’s metro network at the end of this year. In total, CDG has over 382 kilometres of track in operation or under mobilisation across Singapore, New Zealand, France and Sweden.
Meanwhile, RATP Dev is backed by its parent company RATP Group, and has a proven track record in managing high-capacity urban transit systems, complex projects and automated metro networks in cities including Paris, Sydney, Doha and Riyadh.

Recent technical achievements of the company include the simultaneous extension and re-automation of the “ultra-dense” Line 14 in Paris without major service disruption, ahead of the 2024 Olympics and Paralympics, as well as the successful opening of Lines 1 and 2 of the Riyadh Metro, which have carried over 60 million passengers in the first nine months of operation within its 176 kilometre long fully-automated six-line network.
In Lyon, following a smooth takeover of metro operations in 2025, RATP Dev is supporting the public transport authority in transforming the city’s network with the automation and modernisation of three lines, and the development of digitalisation and predictive maintenance technologies to maximise train availability and minimise the interval between metros.
“Our track record in Singapore and across our global network will position us well to deliver reliable, customer centric, and efficient metro operations for Copenhagen passengers. This partnership builds on our successful collaborations and reflects our commitment to mobility for a better future through world-class transportation solutions,” says Peter Lodge, CDG group chief business development officer.

Kristin Thorslund, RATP Dev senior vice president for Nordics and Ireland says: “Copenhagen Metro was among the first systems with driverless metros and remains a bona fide global reference in this high-capacity mode of transport. We are delighted to be prequalified and have the opportunity to work closely with Metroselskabet (Copenhagen Metro) in the next stage of the tender process.
