Prime US REIT announced, on Feb 25, that it has appointed Richard Peter Bren as the chairman of the board of directors.
Bren will take over the position from March 1 onwards. He replaces outgoing chairperson Annie Koh, who was appointed to the role on June 28, 2019. Koh will also cease to become an independent non-executive director of the REIT.
She still holds other positions in other listcos including AMTD IDEA Group , Mewah International and Yoma Strategic Holdings .
“The board wishes to place on record its appreciation to Professor Annie Koh for her invaluable contributions and guidance during her tenure and extends its best wishes to Professor Annie Koh in her future endeavours,” reads Prime US REIT ’s filing.
Bren, who has been a non-executive director of the REIT manager since July 22, 2022, is a shareholder of KBS Asia Partners. KBS Asia Partners is the REIT’s sponsor and holds 40% of the shares in the manager.
On the same day, Prime US REIT announced that it has appointed John Robert French as the lead independent director. He will also be appointed as a member of the nominating and remuneration committee and will continue in his current role as the chairman of the REIT’s audit and risk committee. French will step in his new roles on March 1 as well.

Units in Prime US REIT closed 0.8 US cents lower or 5.229% down at 14.5 US cents on Feb 25.
