Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation (OCBC) has appointed a former PWC partner Lian Wee Cheow as one of its independent non-executive directors, with effect from Jan 1, 2025.
According to the group, Lian’s appointment comes on the back of OCBC’s search for a director candidate “to complement the board’s overall competency and skills”.
In addition to his new appointment, Lian is also currently the vice chairman of the Singapore International Foundation and holds the role of chairman of advisory to the School of Accountancy at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS).
Shares in OCBC closed 1.2 cents lower, or down 0.71%, at $16.83 on Dec 18.
