Malcolm Rodrigues, MyRepublic’s group CEO, describes Ong’s appointment as a signal of his “bold intent” to take the company public.
“Jeannie is an investor relations veteran and I am delighted to have her in our team. Her strong industry reputation coupled with her robust business acumen will put us in an advantageous position as our business develops,” says Rodrigues, who was himself previously from StarHub.

Ong says that she is honoured to join MyRepublic at a time when it is poised for its next phase of growth and development. “I look forward to working closely with the team as we roll out our growth plans in Singapore and across the region,” she adds.
MyRepublic had mentioned its IPO plans previously.
In addition to Ong, MyRepublic has appointed Tun Tun Myint as its new group chief technology officer.
Tun, formerly head of engineering at MyRepublic, left to join Frontiir, the largest internet service provider in Myanmar, before joining back MyRepublic.
Among others, Tun’s responsibilities will include strengthening MyRepublic’s next-generation platform-as-a-service and telco-in-a-box solutions.
“It is exciting to be back at MyRepublic, where the innovative spirit, high energy, and bold attitude that I remember have grown even stronger,” says Tun.
“I look forward to leading our team of talented engineers to continue developing an agile and disruptive telco for the digital age," he adds.
