The chairman and CEO of Asia-Pacific Strategic Investments, Dr Choo Yeow Ming, has resigned with effect May 16 due to health reasons.
Choo is 71, and became CEO of the company in mid 2006. He was responsible for the overall operations, management, strategic planning and business development of the group.
The board and nominating committee of the company says that they are reviewing the board’s composition and searching for suitable candidates to be appointed to the board as chairman, and CEO of the company.
During this interim period, Lee Keng Mun, the COO of the company will take over Choo’s duties and responsibilities.
Choo has 843 million ordinary shares and a deemed interest in 325.5 million ordinary shares in Asia-Pacific Strategic Investments.
Shares in Asia-Pacific Strategic Investments closed flat at 0.1 cents on May 16.
