An article by W.Media reported that the fire caused “significant” service disruptions to major tech companies including Lazada and Bytedance.
In a written response, a Digital Realty spokesperson said the group "became aware" of a fire alarm being triggered at its SIN11 data centre at 7.45am on Sept 10.
"Our response protocol was deployed as soon as the fire alarm was triggered. All on-site personnel were safely evacuated by 8.15am and no injuries [were] reported. We swiftly notified and advised impacted customers to activate their business continuity plans," added the spokesperson. "The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) responded to the incident and is working to secure the premises and stabilise the situation."
Digital Realty owns and operates three data centres in Singapore. Two of them are in Loyang and the third is in Jurong East. Digital Realty is also the sponsor of Singapore Exchange (SGX)-listed Digital Core REIT.
