Song, who has more than 30 years of working experience as an economist, is no stranger to the brokerage. He was, for years, with GK Goh, which following ownership changes is now part of CGS-CIMB. In between, he was with CIMB Bank.
Throughout his career, Song has covered three regional and global recessions, focusing on the economies of Asean-5.
He is a popular figure in Southeast Asia's news media with his generous sharing of insights and views of business and economic trends, based partly on his constant interaction with businesses on the ground instead of merely poring at data.
“Joining CGS-CIMB Securities Singapore is a great honour for me, and I very much look forward to working with our analysts to provide clients with the best possible insights into major markets including Singapore," says Song.
