SATS’ subsidiary TFK Corporation announced that it has secured a three-year inflight catering contract with Turkish Airlines which started in October.
Under the agreement, SATS TFK will provide daily inflight meal services for Turkish Airlines' flights from Narita International Airport-Istanbul and Tokyo Haneda Airport-Istanbul, with all meals prepared to halal standards in SATS TFK's certified facilities.
The group says that this contract marks a significant milestone for its food solutions’ business in Japan and reflects the company's expanding relationship with one of Europe's premier carriers.
SATS TFK, one of Japan's largest inflight caterers with a history dating back to 1959, operates production facilities at both Haneda and Narita airports that serve Tokyo, Japan’s capital city.
“Securing this landmark contract with Turkish Airlines is a testament to SATS TFK's operational excellence and our ability to deliver a wide variety of high-quality inflight meals of authentic Asian and international cuisines, safely, consistently and at scale, while meeting the exacting standards of international carriers,” says Stanley Goh, CEO of SATS Food Solutions.
Shares in SATS closed 5 cents lower or 1.475% down at $3.34 on Nov 21.
