According to the company’s SGX filing, “Moving forward, he remains open to interesting or suitable opportunities that may come along.”
At M&C, he reports directly to parent company CDL’s chairman Kwek Leng Beng.
M&C has around 150 properties with a total of some 43,500 rooms.
Prior to M&C, Tan was the managing director for South East Asia and Korea with London-listed InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG).
In September 2018, Jennifer Fox, a previous M&C CEO, quit after just three months.
Tan Kian Seng, M&C's chief of staff, served as interim CEO.
CDL shares closed July 21 at $8.50, up 2.16% for the day.
