United Overseas Bank has annouced that a new Board Technology Committee will be established with effect from July 1 to assist the Board in guiding the bank’s technology and digital strategy, and in overseeing the bank’s technology risk management, operational resiliency and governance.

The committee will comprise Steven Phan Swee Kim (Chairman), Wee Ee Cheong, Michael Lien, Chia Tai Tee and Ong Chong Tee.

Upon the completion of his nine-year term as an Independent Director, Wong Kan Seng will be redesignated as a Non-Executive and Non-Independent Director with effect from July 27, and will assume the role of Non-Independent Chairman from the same date. In view of the Chairman’s non-independent status, Steven Phan will be appointed as the Lead Independent Director with effect from July 27.
