Keppel Limited’s Connectivity division has signed a new strategic framework agreement with Dell Technologies to work on efficient data centres, announced the group on Sept 17. According to the release, Keppel will collaborate with Dell to develop facilities across strategic data hubs in Asia. They will incorporate Keppel’s innovative green technologies and renewable energy capabilities.
The partnership will also see both parties investing in and developing next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) platforms in Asia. It will leverage Keppel’s operating capabilities across energy and sustainability-related infrastructure, real estate and connectivity, as well as Dell’s technological expertise, extensive enterprise customer base and advanced infrastructure.
In addition, Keppel will invest in and develop “advanced, industry-specific AI platforms” to drive digital transformation in sectors such as healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, retail and telecommunications.
This collaboration will also bring information, communication and technology (ICT) as well as cloud and enterprise solutions provider, AsiaPac Technology (AsiaPac), and a part of Keppel’s Connectivity division on board. AsiaPac will provide cloud integration, infrastructure management services, enterprise solutions and digital transformation consulting, beginning with high-growth markets like Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam.
"This strategic collaboration with Dell exemplifies how Keppel is harnessing our strong relationships with global technology leaders to accelerate the development of our integrated digital ecosystem,” says Manjot Singh Mann, CEO, Connectivity, Keppel.
"By combining Dell’s technological expertise, enterprise reach and advanced infrastructure with Keppel’s deep operating capabilities across the digital infrastructure value chain, we will create future-ready, efficient data centres and advanced AI platforms that will support digital transformation across Asia,” he adds.
