Singapore is ready to harness agentic AI as its next growth engine, as evidenced by its second-place ranking in global artificial intelligence (AI) readiness.
According to Salesforce’s Global AI Readiness Index, Singapore leads the world in AI regulatory preparedness and adoption, ranks second for investment environment and third in talent development. That performance rests on a solid regulatory framework, advanced digital infrastructure, close institutional coordination and a talent pipeline bolstered by a national upskilling strategy.
Although Singapore has built an enabling environment for AI, further investment is needed to expand its innovation capacity, including emerging areas like goal-directed or agentic AI.
“The Index highlights Singapore’s success as a global leader in AI readiness, stemming from early investments in infrastructure, regulatory frameworks, and human capital,” says Brian Kealey, country leader for Salesforce Singapore, adding that his company is proud to be part of the city-state’s thriving ecosystem, supporting secure, real-time innovation.
He continues: “In the next phase of Singapore’s AI journey, we must continue to double down on AI, focusing on scalable, inclusive deployment models to turn the agentic AI opportunity into reality.”
Salesforce’s Global AI Readiness Index assesses 16 markets on 31 indicators across AI governance, diffusion, innovation, investment and talent. The company says the index provides a clear benchmark for how ready countries are to deploy agentic AI and harness digital labour for growth and efficiency.
