Yong Ying-I, an independent director of Singapore Telecommunications , on Feb 24 paid $98,400 for 30,000 Singtel shares, which works out to $3.28 each. She now holds 60,000 Singtel shares.
Yong, a former senior civil servant, joined Singtel's board on Nov 2022. She is chairman of the board's risk, sustainability and technology committee.
Yong bought the shares just days after the telco on Feb 19 reported better 3QFY2025 earnings, and where it raised its ebit guidance. It also laid down a FY2025 total dividend payout guidance of 16.5 cents per share, up from 15 cents paid for FY2024.
Singtel, shares closed at $3.28, unchanged for the day but up more than 40% in the past 12 months.
