SINGAPORE (June 30): Wilmar International today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, KOG Investments (KOGI), is entering a joint venture (JV) agreement with Lion Corporation, which is listed in the Tokyo stock exchange, for the manufacture and sale of methyl ester sulfonate (MES).

The MES is manufactured in Lion’s wholly owned subsidiary, Lion Eco Chemicals, which is used to manufacture consumer products including toothpaste, soap, detergents, cooking-related products and pharmaceuticals.

Under the JV agreement, KOGI will incorporate an operating company in Indonesia via the JV company established in Singapore. KOGI and Lion will each fund 50% of the company.
