SINGAPORE (Nov 15): A subway train moving on the East-West line operated by SMRT Corp collided with a stationery train around 8 am Wednesday morning, according to media reports.

There were 28 injuries in total from the incident at Joo Koon MRT station, including three walk-ins at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital later in the afternoon, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) and SMRT said in a joint statement.

Jones Lang LaSalle says SIngapore's "car-lite" future ambitions could be hampered if breakdowns and other snags continue to plague its mass rapid transit system.
