SINGAPORE (Feb 14): The Singapore economy grew by a revised 3.6% y-o-y in 4Q17, up from initial estimates of 3.1% y-o-y.

This beat market expectations for 2.9% y-o-y and OCBC Bank's forecast of 2.6% y-o-y.

The upside surprise came from services which saw 4Q17 growth upgraded to 3.5% y-o-y, as initial estimates was only 2.5% y-o-y amid healthier activities in finance & insurance, information & communications, and transportation & storage.
