Located in Balestier, Aloft Singapore Novena combines modern aesthetics with a deep connection to the island’s cultural and culinary heritage.
With 785 rooms — including four suites — spread across two towers, the hotel is the largest Aloft property worldwide. Matthew Boettcher, vice-president and global brand leader of Aloft Hotels, says the city-state has a unique allure as a destination that blends global prominence with a rich cultural tapestry.
“Singapore goes beyond its title as a global financial hub,” adds Boettcher. “[It] also offers travellers a melting pot of cultures, cuisines and ideas, making it a perfect destination for a dynamic brand like Aloft.”
Designed by KKS International, Aloft Singapore Novena’s look embodies the brand’s “different by design” ethos. The hotel’s design draws inspiration from the colourful shophouses found throughout Balestier. At the entrance, guests are greeted by a striking 2.5m crescendo sculpture; the lobby features an 85-inch video wall showcasing digital art from global artists, along with ceiling panels that evoke a sense of energy and creativity.
Guests can stay active at the 24/7 Re:charge gyms, featuring indoor and outdoor options, or unwind at the pool with its open deck. The property also features five meeting spaces equipped with advanced audiovisual technology and an LED video wall. For outdoor events, the hotel offers a landscaped event lawn ideal for intimate gatherings or celebrations.

The hotel also boasts a range of dining options to suit various palates. Yuè serves modern Chinese cuisine, while 21 on Rajah offers a halal-certified Mediterranean and Asian buffet. The W XYZ bar in the lobby, meanwhile, serves up inventive cocktails and light bites, and Re:fuel by Aloft provides convenient 24-hour “grab-and-go” options.

Situated just 10 minutes from the CBD, Aloft Singapore Novena provides easy access to destinations such as the Singapore Botanic Gardens, Little India and Orchard Road. There is even a free shuttle bus from the lobby to the Novena MRT Station.
Aloft Singapore Novena is also connected to Zhongshan Mall, which offers additional food options and a supermarket, as well as Zhongshan Park, for families to enjoy the outdoors. General manager Tony Cousens points out that the hotel’s location makes it “ideally positioned for both business and leisure guests”.
Back within the hotel itself, surprises jump out at every turn. Expect a memorable stay — from spontaneous flash mobs in the lobby to bespoke cocktails and a live band at W XYZ.
