The ERA APAC Centre turned into a buzzing celebration of women on March 5, with 200 property agents coming together for the ERA-EdgeProp International Women’s Day Carnival.

Welcoming the crowd — all decked out in shades of pink — was ERA deputy CEO Doris Ong, who kicked off the afternoon’s activities with a short address. “Many of us here today are not just professionals,” said Ong, who is also the real estate company’s Head of Project Marketing. “We are also mothers, daughters, sisters, and even grandmothers.”

She noted that it was important for women to take time and celebrate their achievements, particularly given the multifaceted roles they play. “Remember to love yourself [and] appreciate yourself.”

Cecilia Chow, editor of EdgeProp, then gave out tokens of appreciation to seven realtors who were part of a special feature in the March 17 issue of EdgeProp.

These realtors — Hazel Tea, Regine Phay, Elaine Goh, Lucy Wu, Eileen Lim, Pristine Lim and Charm T Soe Win — “have a special story to tell”, said Chow. “They all come from different backgrounds. What they have in common is that all of them ended up in ERA as a realtor.”

Roses were handed out to the crowd, and the afternoon’s activities then kicked off in earnest, beginning with an “inflation combat exercise” workshop held by Infinitum Financial Advisory’s Stacy Tham. Here, participants picked up strategies to get more out of their money to support their asset acquisitions.

The crowd then got their glam game on, with a makeup and skincare workshop presented by Estée Lauder; participants were invited to try some of the brand’s best-selling products, and taught how to best apply them for maximal results. Estée Lauder also provided individualised makeup sessions for those looking to perfect their looks.

This was followed by a quick self-defence workshop led by martial arts powerhouse Tham Boon Kit from Fight Academy; participants had the opportunity to pick up new techniques through interactive physical demonstrations.

Food and drinks flowed freely throughout the event, including an assortment of International Women’s Day-themed sweet treats, and even a special mocktail created by the EdgeProp team. There was also a series of lucky draws, where winners walked away with prizes across the afternoon.

To drive in the theme of women’s appreciation, participants were invited to pen notes with messages of thanks to the women in their lives.

The writers of three particularly inspiring notes were handed prizes at the end of the day, including dining experience vouchers from Swiss appliance brand V-ZUG, PropHunt classified advertisement slots from EdgeProp, and a one-month unlimited pass from Fight Academy.

Infinitum, Estée Lauder, Fight Academy and V-ZUG were among the event’s sponsors; others included Anthony Law Corporation and Circular Law Chambers.
