(April 29): Walt Disney Co chief executive officer Josh D’Amaro is not planning on spinning off the company’s ESPN networks.

The sports channels will continue to stay within Disney as the unit builds out its streaming offerings, according to a report from Business Insider. A spokesperson for ESPN declined to comment.

Analysts have speculated for years that Disney would spin off the sports networks, particularly after the company began reporting ESPN’s results separately. But management has also consistently said that was not in the cards.

ESPN launched a US$30 ($38.31)-a-month streaming app in August. Fans can use the platform to watch live sports, check scores and view highlights.
