Wilmar International has appointed Lee Huay Leng as a non-executive and independent director of the group.
Lee is the editor-in-chief of SPH Media’s Chinese Media Group. She oversees the Chinese paper Lianhe Zaobao, zaobao.com, Shin Min Daily News and more.
According to Wilmar’s filing dated Feb 25, Lee will “complement the perspective, competencies and skills” of the current board, especially with her perspective on current affairs in China. In addition, Lee will also contribute to the “diversity of expertise, gender and age” of the board.
Shares in Wilmar closed 5 cents lower or 1.572% down at $3.13.
