According to the group, the board is of the view that Ng’s qualifications and experience in building long-lasting systems and sustainable governance will further diversify the board’s core competencies and skill set.
Prior to his appointment as MOM’s permanent secretary, Ng also served as permanent secretary (Smart Nation and Digital Government) in the Prime Minister’s Office from May 2017 to March 2022.
Shares in Hong Leong Asia closed 3.5 cents higher, or up 4.12%, at 88.5 cents on Dec 16.
