The manager of Suntec REIT has appointed David Matheson as chairman and non-executive director of the REIT, following the resignation of Chew Gek Khim.
This new appointment took effect from yesterday, Sept 30. Matheson is currently the chief investment officer, group strategy and investments of ESR Group, where he focuses on corporate strategy, capital allocation, and enhancing the company’s investment platform.
“I look forward to working closely with the board and management team to reinvigorate Suntec REIT’s strategy, with a focus on narrowing the prevailing discount to net asset value (NAV), taking advantage of compelling growth opportunities in the current environment and realising value for all unitholders,” said Matheson.
The composition of the board of the manager are as follows: Yap Chee Meng, lead independent non-executive director; Chan Pee Teck Peter, independent non-executive director; Yu-Foo Yee Shoon, independent non-executive director; Lock Wai Han, non-executive director; Shen Jinchu, non-executive director; Matthew Lawson, non-executive director and Chong Kee Hiong, chief executive officer and executive director.
Units in Suntec REIT closed 2 cents higher or 1.562% up at $1.30 on Oct 1.
