(May 19): Owner of Spanish retailer Mango Jonathan Andic was arrested as part of the investigation into the death of his father in 2024.

Andic was taken to court outside of Barcelona on Tuesday to testify in the case, a spokesperson told Bloomberg News. Spokespeople for the police confirmed the arrest.

He is being investigated in connection with the possible homicide of Mango founder Isak Andic, who died in December 2024 after falling from a cliff while hiking with his son Jonathan.

A spokesperson for the Andic family said cooperation with the investigation will continue throughout the proceedings. Jonathan and his two sisters are the main owners of Mango, following the death of their father.

Local newspapers earlier reported that Jonathan Andic had been arrested at his Barcelona home and taken to court for questioning.

The Andic family and Mango have consistently maintained that Isak Andic’s death was accidental. Local media reported late last year that the judge in the case had designated Jonathan Andic as an investigated suspect in a possible homicide.
