Sembcorp Industries announced on Dec 31 that its subsidiary, Sembcorp Development and partner Becamex IDC Corporation, have been awarded a license to develop a new Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP).
Located in Khanh Hoa Province, Ninh Xuan 2 Industrial Park (VSIP Ninh Xuan) is the 21st VSIP under Sembcorp’s portfolio. Spanning 490 hectares, the park has “seamless access” to deep-sea ports, major expressways, and modernised airports.
Sembcorp says that the park’s connectivity will enhance global supply chains and advance export-focused and clean-tech industries. Similar to other VSIPs, modern industrial infrastructure and urban support services will be integrated to create a “smart, green, and future-ready” development.
Sembcorp Development CEO Lee Ark Boon, says that VSIP Ninh Xuan represents the company’s “commitment to advance sustainable industrial development in Vietnam”. He adds, ”We aim to integrate urban solutions to realise our vision of a low-carbon industrial park, while attracting investments that create long-term economic value for the region.”
At around 2:30 pm on Dec 31, Sembcorp shares were up one cent, or 0.2% to $6.02.
