(July 5): China welcomes deeper cooperation with Swedish and European businesses, which will benefit all parties involved, Foreign Minister Wang Yi said in a meeting with Investor AB chairman Jacob Wallenberg in Stockholm on July 4, according to a statement from the ministry on Sunday.
Wang said the Wallenbergs were among the first of the European groups to enter the Chinese market after the nation’s reform and opening-up, and the Swedish firm had made a unique contribution to relations between the two countries.
The minister said he looked to the Wallenberg family and Sweden’s business community to continue playing a positive role in supporting improved ties between the two countries. China and Sweden are working to improve mutual trust, focus on cooperation and return bilateral relations to a healthy development track, he said.
Wang said China would continue to boost domestic demand, advance opening-up at a high level, and uphold free-trade and market economy principles.
