AEM Holdings' second and third largest shareholders in active trades

AEM Holdings' second and third largest shareholders have been actively trading their holdings over the past month.

UK-based asset manager abrdn bought shares of the SGX-listed chip-tester at a slightly higher level versus what it sold for just days earlier.

On Nov 26, abrdn sold 514,000 shares at around $1.33 each. On Dec 19, abrdn sold another 1.77 million shares at around $1.32 each. 

Yet, on Dec 26, abrdn paid $2.5 million to buy 1.5 million shares, which works out to an average of $1.37 each. This brings abrdn's total stake in AEM to nearly 18.9 million shares, or 6.032%, up from 5.553%.

On Dec 16, Malaysia's Employees Provident Fund paid $1.36 each for one million shares. On Dec 20, EPF, known to be a relatively active trader of shares, sold 265,000 shares for around $1.3 each. 

Most recently, on Dec 23, it paid around $1.33 each for nearly 1.9 million shares, bringing its total stake to around 26.8 million shares, equivalent to 8.545%, up from 7.939%.

On Nov 12, AEM reported a net loss of $917,000 for its 3QFY2024 ended Sept, down from $1.5 million recorded in the year-earlier three months to Sept 2023. This brings its 9MFY2024 net loss to $95,000. Revenue for its 3QFY2024 was $74.2 million, down 6.5%.

Temasek Holdings, via a vehicle called Venezio Investments, is AEM's single largest shareholder with a stake that has been held steady at 12.5%.

AEM hares closed at $1.38 on Dec 27, up 0.73% for the day but down 60% year to date.
