Lion Global Investors’ Infinity US 500 Stock Index SGD Fund came up tops in the CPF Funds category at the Best Funds Awards 2025 by The Edge Singapore. Tracking the S&P 500 Index, the fund offers Singapore-based investors diversified exposure to the 500 largest US companies.

Structured as a feeder fund into the Vanguard US 500 Stock Index Fund, it has attracted steady retail and CPF-linked inflows over the years due to its transparent, index-tracking strategy.

Despite heightened volatility in 2024, the fund remained resilient, backed by a strong US equity rally driven by mega-cap tech names and improving macroeconomic sentiment. With the S&P 500 posting double-digit gains last year, the fund delivered solid returns in SGD terms, bolstered by US dollar strength and sectoral leadership in technology, consumer discretionary and communication services.

As of the end of February, the fund size stands at $783.3 million with a return on equity (ROE) of 27%. The fund’s top five holdings are Apple (7.2%), Nvidia (6.1%), Microsoft (5.8%), Amazon.com (3.9%) and Alphabet (3.6%).

The majority (30.7%) of the equities in the fund are from the IT sector, while 14.5% are from the financial industry and 10.8% from the healthcare sector.

As a passive strategy, the fund’s appeal lies in its simplicity and low cost. The Infinity US 500 Stock Index Fund has an annual management fee of just 0.475%, offering one of the lowest expense ratios among CPF-approved global equity funds. It also stands out for its transparency, with a tracking error consistently kept below 0.5%, according to Morningstar data.

Suitable for long-term CPF investment, the fund complements a buy-and-hold approach while capturing broad-based US equity returns. Its cumulative performance over three and five years ranks among the top quartile of its CPF fund peers while also demonstrating low turnover and broad diversification across sectors.

Backed by OCBC Group, Lion Global Investors has positioned the Infinity range as a gateway for retail investors to access institutional-quality indexing solutions. The US 500 fund is the flagship offering, with a track record extending over two decades.

As inflation pressures ease and expectations grow for US rate cuts in 2025, the US equity market remains a focal point for investor interest. The fund is strategically positioned to capitalise on structural trends, including US innovation leadership, robust corporate earnings and sustained productivity gains.
