Today, Khoon Engineering’s presence is felt most strongly in the heartlands, where lives unfold in the corridors of Housing and Development Board (HDB) flats. At its peak, one in five HDB homes was powered by systems installed by Khoon Engineering. This reflects the company’s long-standing commitment to building with purpose and reliability.

Khoon Engineering is proud to be registered under the work head of ME05 (Electrical Engineering) with an L6 grade under the Contractors Registration System maintained by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA). This allows the company to tender for public sector projects of any value. It also holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certifications, reflecting its steady focus on quality, safety, and environmental responsibility.

As Singapore moves towards becoming a smart and sustainable city, Khoon Engineering is honoured to play a part in this journey. The company was involved in one of the first smart-enabled HDB housing projects at Punggol Northshore and deeply appreciates the trust placed in them to support such meaningful national efforts.

Khoon Engineering was privileged to take part in large-scale smart-enabled HDB projects, where features such as smart distribution boards and sockets were introduced to support better energy tracking and connectivity. While not the creators of these technologies, the company played a hands-on role in bringing them to life on the ground, helping integrate these innovations reliably at scale. These smart systems also improve estate maintenance through real-time data from sensors monitoring lighting, water pumps, lifts, and other key services.

This commitment to progress is also seen in Khoon Engineering’s continued investment in Building Information Modelling and digital tools that streamline procurement and monitor equipment deployment across sites. Looking ahead, the company is exploring the use of artificial intelligence agents to reduce manual tracking, improve transparency, and enhance site accountability.

It was awarded the highest BCA grading of L6 in Electrical Engineering, allowing it to undertake large-scale public sector projects. In 2018, it was listed among Singapore’s top-performing enterprises in the Business Times and KPMG’s Enterprise 50 Awards. That same spirit of resilience was further acknowledged when its parent company, Khoon Group Limited, was named among Forbes Asia’s Best Under A Billion in 2020.
