CORNERSTONES OF DEVELOPMENT
Notably, having been awarded the A1 grading by the BCA - the highest grade for contractors in Singapore - Koh Brothers is able to undertake public sector projects of unlimited value and their construction division has been instrumental in both shaping Singapore’s physical landscape and contributing to nation building.

Marina Barrage
Koh Brothers remains committed to embracing innovation and breaking new ground on the home front.
In the case of Punggol Waterway, this award-winning project was an essential element in HDB’s Remaking Our Heartlands initiative. It transformed a former agricultural area into a vibrant waterfront living hub, integrating recreational spaces and sustainable water technologies.
In addition to its construction process, Koh Brothers has also made a name for itself as a niche real estate developer, creating distinctive lifestyle-themed developments. Its projects range from luxury condominiums to innovative themed residences, showcasing a commitment to quality and unique living experiences.

LANDMARK PROJECTS AND ENGINEERING EXCELLENCE
Koh Brothers’ contribution to Singapore’s nation-building is most visibly evident in its involvement in numerous landmark projects. A well-known notch in their belt is the trailblazing and iconic Marina Barrage, which was officially opened in 2008.
At 10,000 hectares - or one-sixth of Singapore’s land size – it is the nation’s first urban freshwater reservoir to provide desalinated water to meet the country’s growing demand. Koh Brothers used their engineering expertise to design the barrage using a system comprising gates and pumps, which alleviates flooding in low-lying areas in the city.
For its efforts, the project was conferred the Superior Achievement Award - the highest honour for the best project entry - at the American Academy of Environmental Engineers Annual Awards in 2009. Marina Barrage was also recognised with the 2010 BCA Design & Engineering Safety Excellence Award - Merit Award (Civil Engineering), and the 2011 BCA Construction Excellence Award (Civil Engineering Projects).
Koh Brothers has also played a vital role in developing Singapore’s transportation infrastructure, contributing to the efficiency and connectivity of the city. Such projects include the construction of the Downtown Line 1 Bugis MRT Station and associated tunnels, Common Service Tunnel (Marina South) as well as the Lorong Halus Flyover and the award-winning Holland Road/ Farrer Road/ Queensway Interchange.
Marina East Desalination Plant
Meanwhile, Koh Brothers’ commitment to environmental sustainability is showcased in projects such as the Tuas Reclamation Plant, Marina East Desalination Plant, and, most notably, Changi Water Reclamation Plant - a state-of-the-art facility for used water treatment and recycling that forms part of the Deep Tunnel Sewerage System.
INNOVATING FOR THE FUTURE
As Singapore continues to evolve, Koh Brothers remains committed to embracing innovation and breaking new ground on the home front. It secured a S$1.12 billion project from CAG for the development of its three-runway operations at Changi Airport, and recently, it was also awarded a S$313.9 million contract by the LTA to design and construct a multi-storey bus depot.
Dry Fractionation Plant
Koh Brothers also has on its plate projects like the Marina East Desalination Plant - set to be the world’s first plant capable of treating both sea and freshwater - and Woodlands Health Campus, a modern and large-scale medical facility. These initiatives demonstrate Koh Brothers’ focus on developing solutions for the future needs of Singapore - from water security to healthcare – and their steadfast adherence to their company motto “Building Cities Building Dreams”.
