Chip Aik Aluminium combines innovation and expertise to forge new opportunities across construction, manufacturing, and a host of emerging sectors.
Chip Aik Aluminium Pte Ltd (“Chip Aik”) is a trusted leader in Singapore’s aluminium supply industry, offering an extensive range of aluminium extrusions, sheets, accessories, and architectural profiles. Serving the construction and manufacturing sectors both locally and regionally, the company caters to a broad clientele that includes fabricators, sub-contractors, architects, main contractors, and component manufacturers.
Founded in 1974 by Mr Kuah Tian Eng and four partners, Chip Aik began as a niche supplier and distributor focused on sourcing architectural aluminium profiles to meet increasing domestic demand. Committed to service excellence and quality, the company built a strong reputation over the decades as it scaled and expanded capabilities. Today, it operates a 12,000-square-foot factory in western Singapore’s Pioneer district, boasting modernised operations and logistics support that enables efficient stock management and reliable fulfilment.
The company was acquired by the Kuah family in 2012 and Mdm Annie Sia - daughter-in-law of founder Mr Kuah – continued to be the Managing Director. Under her leadership, she built up a loyal client base by fostering trust and rapport with customers, driving the company’s growth over the years.
With a third generation joining the ownership and management rank in 2015, the business saw renewed energy, modern perspectives, and a bold vision for growth. The new leadership team identified three core priorities – streamlining operations, creating differentiation, and maintaining agility – that continue to shape its present strategy. A full upgrade of warehouse systems and the adoption of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution strengthened operational efficiency, translating into even higher levels of service delivery.
Known for its service-first mindset and deep technical knowledge, Chip Aik emphasises staff training and capability development. This has helped to empower its team, giving them the confidence to offer tailored recommendations and in-depth guidance to customers. This consultative approach distinguishes the business from traditional stockists, helping to strengthen long-term client relationships.

Since re-branding in 2021, Chip Aik has accelerated its digital transformation, recognising the importance of integrating digital tools across the customer journey. In 2023, the company launched a proprietary online platform that facilitates end-to-end customer experiences. From browsing product ranges and verifying stock levels, to placing orders and tracking of delivery fulfilment, the platform even helps visualisation with 3D models of architectural systems. This has boosted efficiency and transparency, giving customers deeper engagement and co-creation benefits.
Chip Aik’s growth strategy also includes exploring opportunities beyond the traditional construction sector. It has expanded its footprint into new markets such as vertical farming, aviation infrastructure and data centres. These sectors require unique aluminium solutions, and Chip Aik’s adaptability has allowed it to successfully cater to these new segments.
In 2023, the company further strengthened its product offering by becoming the exclusive Singapore distributor of GIESSE, a premium Italian brand known for its high-performance hardware systems for aluminium doors, windows, and sliding applications. This was in response to growing demand for larger, thermally efficient aluminium fenestration systems. GIESSE products are also Cradle to Cradle Certified® and meet stringent sustainability requirements, making them a natural fit for Chip Aik’s commitment to delivering sustainable solutions. This partnership also aligns with Singapore’s push for developing green building solutions.
