Alpine Motors officially introduces Singapore muscle-car fans to the C8 Corvette Stingray
Local fans of the legendary American muscle-car brand, Corvette, can check out the Stingray at a pop-up at the ION Orchard Level 1 Atrium between 28 July to 3 August.
With a handful of existing grey import units running around, the C8 is not a new model.
However, this time around, Alpine Motors, General Motors' long-standing sole authorised dealer (AD) in Singapore, has decided to officially introduce the sports car to the local market, with prices starting from S$648k w/o COE.

"We saw a unique opportunity to bring the Corvette into Singapore as the market continues to mature in its appreciation for performance and heritage-driven marques. Corvette represents an iconic American sports car with a global appeal, and we believe its bold design and value-performance ratio make it a standout offering in a segment traditionally dominated by European makes," Pang tells us.
He continues, "As GM partners for nearly 20 years, it was a natural step for Alpine Motors to bring this legendary nameplate to Singapore. In the near term, we’re focused on building a strong enthusiast community, showcasing the brand through curated experiences – including collaborations with the Johor motorsport racing team – and establishing long-term confidence in Corvette’s presence in Singapore."

After all, when you buy a specialised sportscar like the Stingray, some owners prefer to have the assurance that comes with the aftersales backing of a reputable AD.
In the mid-ship of the beast sits a rumbling 6.2-litre V8 that produces 490hp and 630Nm.
Mated to an 8spd dual-clutch gearbox, the Stingray will dispatch the 100km/h sprint from standstill in just over 3secs.
Fast-road and track enthusiasts will be pleased to learn Singapore cars are equipped with the Z51 Performance Package as standard.

Apart from the rear spoiler and front splitter, the Z51 Performance Package includes a track-tuned suspension, performance exhaust, larger brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres, as well as a shorter final drive and electroic LSD.
Additionally, the Stingray boasts a lightweight, 3.2mm-thick glass panel on the rear hatch that shows off the V8 lurking in the engine bay.
The Corvette showroom-boutique (pictured above) will be housed at One Commonwealth (1 Commonwealth Ln, Singapore 149544), and would have been officially opened by the time you read this.
