Here’s a rundown of some models to catch during the 2025 Singapore Motor Show weekend
The arrival of several new China car brands to Singapore (and their appearance at the 2025 Singapore Motor Show) sees a lot more of the alphabet used as their names practically span A to Z.
You’d imagine the Singapore market to be saturated as far as new cars are concerned. However, this isn’t stopping each fresh entrant from scrambling to gain a foothold here while the consumer tide is still enamoured of relatively affordable electric vehicles – very much like fast fashion.
Besides, given Singapore’s compact size, it’s arguably still the perfect place for electric vehicles, especially if your charging routine isn’t terribly cumbersome and you’re likely to spend all your driving time on this side of the border.
The model roster for the 2025 Singapore Motorshow has come to reflect this electrifying zeitgeist, even if some of you might think the all-electric phenomenon isn’t here to stay.

AUDI
Q6 e-tron
The mid-sized Q6 e-tron is the first of the Audi models to sit on the 800V PPE platform that also underpins the electric Macan.

With the front-end dominated by the familiar singleframe grille found on Audi Q crossover models, the Q6 boasts the brand’s trademark smart and unfussy aesthetics, as well as a distinctive light signature.
However, its tastefully sculpted proportions lend it a sense of posh purpose that is fit for the thinking man, especially when complemented by the modern digitalised cabin.
BMW
530i Signature
Created for the Singapore market, the 530i Signature joins the new X3 and 1 Series on centrestage. It musters 258hp and 400Nm and accelerates from standstill to 100km/h in 6.2secs.
M Sport elements feature on both the interior and exterior, while the cabin boasts open-pored fine-wood trim in Grey Blue Ash. Only 60 units of this limited-edition model will be available.

BYD
Sealion 7
BYD leads the electric charge into the crossover segment with the Sealion 7 SUV, which is inspired by the ocean and embodies a further evolution of the top-selling brand’s design identity.
Given the popularity of the crossover form factor and BYD's attractive pricing, the Sealion 7 looks set to take the brand to greater heights in Singapore.
DEEPAL
S07
Former Audi authorised distributor, Premium Automobiles, adds Deepal as a third brand to its portfolio, which already comprises Zeekr and Xpeng.
Producing 160kW, the all-electric S07 boasts a 475km range and is a spiffy, sharply-styled crossover complete with frameless windows, as well as a commodious, feature-packed cabin.
HYUNDAI
MY25 Ioniq 5 N
The Ioniq 5 N is the most dynamic, fun-flavoured EV we’ve driven to date and it returns with a raft of updates that includes tweaking the N Drift Optimiser, as well as enhancing some safety features and the intelligent light system.
Visually, Hyundai’s 650hp and 770Nm powerhouse looks the same, so we reckon only the lucky owners will be able to appreciate the MY25’s tweaks.
IM by MG Motors
The Eurokars Group takes the opportunity to introduce the IM (or Intelligent Mobility) brand of EVs to Singapore, which is touted as MG’s technology-driven sub-brand.
The two models to make their debut at the Singapore Motor Show are the IM5 and IM6.
JAECOO
J6
We love chunky, compact crossovers and the J6 from Jaecoo – one of the brands under the Chery umbrella – is no exception, especially given its 4x4 ability!
The J6 wears a rugged form, but it is no slouch as far as cabin function and utility are concerned.
It may look the part of a mud-ploughing off-roader, but the feature-filled cabin ensures the occupants enjoy a cosseting life-on-board.
KIA
EV5
Like the Jaecoo J6, the EV5 is another BEV that endears itself to us, thanks to the mid-sized crossover’s rugged styling.
It is the third model in Kia’s EV range after the EV6 and EV9, and will join the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 in wearing the ‘Made-in-Singapore’ tag, because it will also be built at the HMGICS facility (incidentally as an EV that qualifies as a Cat A COE contender for the Singapore market).
LEXUS
LBX Kuro Edition
The Kuro Edition seeks to inject a little sporty menace into the compact Lexus LBX crossover as it boasts dechromed aesthetics on the outside.
This ‘blackened’ treatment extends to the badging and window trim. In case you’ve forgotten, the LBX (or Lexus Breakthrough X(cross)-over) is powered by a hybridised 1.5-litre 3cyl that produces 136hp and 185Nm.
MERCEDES-BENZ
Mercedes-AMG E 53 Hybrid 4Matic+
The new Mercedes-AMG E 53 Hybrid 4Matic+ delivers outstanding driving dynamics.
As a plug-in hybrid, the feisty E-Class combines mighty performance with efficiency. Its 3.0-litre inline6 serves-up 585hp and 740Nm, which see an acceleration time of 4secs from 0-100km/h.
TOYOTA
MY25 GR Yaris
Our favourite motorsports-inspired pocket rocket returns with an 8spd Gazoo Racing Direct Automatic Transmission.
We loved the manual variant, but the automatic should see its appeal spread to a wider audience of 3A licence holders.
The 8spd auto transmission’s close-ratios help make the most of the turbocharged 1.6-litre engine’s uprated 304hp/400Nm power band.
VW
Golf
VW showcases the Mk8.5 Golf hatchback to Singapore at its road-show at Marina Square, a convenient walk from the site of the Singapore Motor Show.
The automotive icon turned 50 last year and in its latest iteration, features a raft of hardware and software updates, including a next-generation infotainment system that has been developed from scratch.
YANGWANG
U9
Designed around the ‘Time Gate’ philosophy, the U9 super-sportscar comes under the Yangwang banner, which is BYD’s high-end sub-brand.
With 1300hp and 1680Nm (and a blistering 2.36secs 0-100km/h time), the U9 is underpinned by two core technologies, the e4 platform (with four independent electric motors) and the DiSus-X Intelligent Body Control System.
Despite its serious performance credentials, the U9 proves it can have fun too, because the BYD DiSus-X Intelligent Body Control System doesn’t just see its adaptive suspension work dynamic magic, it can even ‘dance’ to music!
ZEEKR
7X
There's nothing snoozy about Zeekr as Singapore is introduced to the 7X – its mid-sized SUV that joins the 009 premium MPV and X city crossover – and is touted as the "SUV that intuitively adapts to global families".
The posh five-seater, which is based on the Geely Group's modular Sustainable Experience Architecture (that also underpins the 001 and X), is expected to ensconce its occupants in a luxurious and fully-digitalised coccoon that should take the hardship out of arduous commutes.
