SINGAPORE (Sep 3): Technology is changing the way things are done in the house. From vacuum cleaners to light bulbs and washing machines, these devices are no longer the dumb machines of yesteryear. These are just some of the smart gadgets that can make household chores easier and enhance your viewing pleasure.

Neato Botvac Connected robot vacuum Neato’s latest Botvac Connected robot vacuum is connected via WiFi and can be operated from the user’s Apple or Android smartphone. The robot vacuum can also be remotely operated with the smartphone app and lets users know the status of the vacuum run.

Samsung QLED TV  Samsung’s new QLED TV is filled with technology to make binge watching easier. The Magic Screen technology enables the TV to blend in with the wall by mimicking the pattern on the wall, while providing information such as weather updates and playing music. Samsung Smart Hub allows users to connect to the internet and have access to Netflix movies and different devices from the TV.

Philips Hue light bulbs Philips Hue light bulbs can change the colour displayed via the Philips Hue app. With the latest update, the app is easier to navigate, and has new colour pickers for you to choose an exact shade from the palette. The app features 30 new scenes, such as a sunset in Honolulu, and can create lighting routines such as dimming the lights in the evening.

LG Smart washing machine and dryer LG’s latest TWINWash washing machines and dryers are now WiFienabled and can connect to LG’s SmartThinQ app. This allows users to activate the machines and do their laundry remotely. The washing machines and dryers are equipped with features to eliminate odours and wrinkles as well as shorten the washing cycle time.
