Singapore - BMW Asia has launched the M4 Competition Coupe and Convertible in Singapore, both with M xDrive, more power, refreshed design and fresh tech, as well as a series of optional packs to further customise the cars.

At time of writing, the M4 Competition Coupe will start from S$594,888 and the M4 Competition Convertible, S$616,888

Produced at the BMW Group Dingolfing plant, the newly-launched cars boast our favourite oversized vertical BMW kidney grille, which works perfectly with their powerful proportions and M-specific design elements.

Redesigned headlights serve to refresh the models' front-end aesthetics, with the Adaptive LED headlights with anti-glare matrix high-beam in M Shadow Line as standard.
The LED taillights feature laser technology, with the laser diodes producing an even illumination of glass fibre bundles and 3D light graphics, technology that was first presented on the M4 CSL limited edition.
The keen-eyed would have noticed that the base of the BMW roundel is now finished in High Gloss Black, while the "M" on the rear-lid now features a silver surround.

Like before, it features staggered wheels between front and rear axles, with new M forged light-alloy wheels featuring a double-spoke design and a silver finish.
The cabin is a familiar space to be in, with the steering wheel design levelling up to feature a flattened bottom, as well as a red centre marking at 12 o'clock for a motorsports vibe.
The design of the straight-six cylinder engine at the heart of the revised M4 Competition models is derived from motor-racing, and combines high-revving characteristics with a tsunami of torque thanks to M TwinPower Turbo technology.
Power output has been bumped to 530hp (at 6250rpm) and 650Nm between 2750 and 5730rpm, with the Coupe dispatching the 0-100km/h in 3.5secs (the Convertible takes 3.7secs). The top speed on both models is electronically limited to 250km/h.
The chassis dynamics features a fully variable Active M differential, so the 4WD M xDrive system can alternate between 4WD, 4WD Sport and even 2WD. The DSC alone comprises ten stages of wheel slip adjustment.
The cars run on BMW's OS8.5 and feature BMW Curved Display with a 12.3-inch instrument display and 14.9-inch centre display.
