Toast to the final weekend of the month as 1 Group’s 30 day-long ‘Wine Lust Journeys’ programme draws to an end.
Formerly known as 1-Rochester Group, the lifestyle and F&B outfit approaches the last hurrah of its celebratory project which it calls “an unprecedented Bacchic adventure” – one that aims to plumb the soul of wine drinking by exploring the art, the product and the experience.
Kick off the weekend at The Summerhouse on Aug 25 (Friday), where a Woodstock Wine Dinner ($125++) is being held in collaboration with The Straits Wine Company. For one night only, the restaurant presents a five-course dinner menu paired with premium Woodstock vintages made by winemaker Ben Glaetzer.
A true oenophile’s first order of the day should be to head on down to Botanico at The Garage on Sunday, Aug 27, from 3-6pm. For just $35 nett, oenophiles will get to taste an extensive range of 69 new- and old-world wines curated by six leading wine suppliers – inclusive of a complimentary glass of Riedel as well as cheese and snacks.
Those who enjoy savouring pizza over a glass or two should do so downstairs at the ground level of the Garage where you’ll find Bee’s Knees, a laidback garden café and bistro right that is holding a month-long promotion for August. Enjoy the establishment’s signature handmade pizza paired with either a bottle of Gran Hacienda sauvignon blanc or Gran Hacienda cabernet sauvignon for just $55 nett (U.P. $70 nett). And if you are simply here for the tipples, a bottle or glass of either is just $45 or $12, respectively, at nett pricing.
Meanwhile, Monti is exclusively retailing seven labels of old world wines from Spain, Italy and France in large format for the month of August. Ranging from $450++ to $950++ per Magnum (1.5-litre) and Jeroboam (3-litre) bottle, these highly-prized rare vintage collectibles will be on display at the restaurant’s signature Wine Lust bar. The Italian Bodegas Roda Roda 2011 Jeroboam will be also available by the glass at $22++.
This weekend will also be your last one to wine and dine in true Aussie fashion at Wildseed Bar, where head chef Florian Ridder has recreated his signature dishes from each of his three partner vineyards. The month-long menu will star Chef Ridder’s culinary creations with wine-pairing options from Leeuwin Estate, Woodstock and Kaesler.
