La Prairie has done it again — this time, with a new product that touts an ability to “reset” one’s skin to a more youthful state.

The Life Matrix Haute Rejuvenation Cream comes by way of a collaboration between La Prairie and Clinique La Prairie, combining decades of research in longevity and skincare excellence. With a retail price of $2,900, this 50ml jar sits a generous touch above a pretty penny, but if the claims it makes hold true, the price tag could well be worth it.

Underlying the Life Matrix Haute Rejuvenation Cream is the idea of “high-longevity science”. Developed by La Prairie’s director of innovation, Daniel Stangl, this philosophy focuses on modulating cellular information. “The high-longevity science of Life Matrix … [enables] skin cells to behave like a more youthful version of themselves,” says Stangl.

The “impaired availability and use of cellular information”, he adds, is what ultimately causes ageing. “This understanding provides a scientific framework that allows us to create skincare products which extend skin’s healthspan and youth longevity through modulating cellular information in the skin.”

The Life Matrix Haute Rejuvenation Cream’s efficacy is thus enacted on a cellular level. La Prairie says the cream is “designed to modulate cellular information”, with treatment tailored to individual skin types and needs, which may vary based on genetic and lifestyle factors.

Among the ingredients in the Life Matrix Haute Rejuvenation Cream is a fusion of La Prairie’s Exclusive Cellular Complex with natural extracts from peony roots and calendula flowers. Termed the “Exclusive Matrix Complex”, this combination is said to improve the skin’s function over an extended period for a younger appearance that lasts.

La Prairie’s clinical study of 50 subjects using the Life Matrix Haute Rejuvenation Cream found significant improvements with prolonged use, not just immediately after application. Other results the brand found include increased skin elasticity, firmness and a stronger skin barrier.

When I tried the Life Matrix Haute Rejuvenation Cream for myself, the first thing that hit me was its unique texture. The cream has what La Prairie calls a “double melting point”, making it rich and moisturising yet lightweight and readily absorbed into the skin.

Having used it for just a few weeks, I’ve noticed significant improvements in my skin’s elasticity and firmness. The cream seems to work from the inside out, enhancing the skin’s natural barriers and reducing trans-epidermal water loss, two crucial factors in maintaining long-term hydration and resilience. I’ve also noticed fewer breakouts, even after sleepless nights and consecutive days of heavy makeup use.

Beyond the product itself, what also sets the Life Matrix Haute Rejuvenation Cream apart from others is its sustainable yet artful packaging. The sleek, futuristic jar is crafted from recyclable aluminium, reflecting La Prairie’s dedication to reducing its environmental impact.

The Life Matrix Haute Rejuvenation Cream is available at all La Prairie counters in Singapore.
