According to ComfortDelGro, the exact platform fee will vary based on the distance travelled and travel time.
The company says the higher fees will go towards "enhanced protection" and "welfare initiatives" to help provide a more "secure future" for its drivers.
In a separate announcement to users, Grab Holdings is similarly raising its platform fees for ride-hailing from 70 cents now to 90 cents.
For food delivery, the platform fee will now be 60 cents - up from 40 cents now.

Just like ComfortDelGro, the hikes will take effect from Jan 1.
ComfortDelGro shares changed hands at $1.44 as at 11.23 am, down 0.69%.
Nasdaq-quoted Grab shares closed at US$4.88, down 0.41%.
