Mapletree Investments has acquired a 34,852 sqm modern logistics facility in the Netherlands, the group announced on Dec 23.
The facility is located within Roosendaal’s Business Park Borchwerf I, one of the Netherlands’ most established logistics hubs. It is also sited within Roosendaal’s transportation network, giving it direct access to major European markets.
“The Dutch logistics sector is a resilient market underpinned by strong fundamentals, driven by the continued growth of e-commerce and ongoing supply chain optimisation,” says Ralph van der Beek, CEO of Mapletree’s European commercial and logistics arm.
Van der Beek says the acquisition is in line with Mapletree’s strategy to “sharpen its focus on logistics as a core sector” while deepening their logistics footprint in Europe. Mapletree is also looking to pursue similar investment opportunities, particularly in Western Europe and UK, he adds.
Mapletree first entered the European logistics market in 2018. The 82 logistics assets it now owns across eight countries accounts for EUR1.6 billion in assets under management. In January, Mapletree announced that it had acquired its first logistics property in the UK as well as 10 warehouses in Spain for an approximate total value of EUR315.1 million.
Besides logistics, Mapletree owns and manages office, mixed-use and student housing properties in Europe and the UK. Those assets are valued at S$7.8 billion as at March 31 2025.
